All itineraries keep you in the safer Imphal valley circuit — the city plus the Loktak Lake / Moirang day. Travel by day, use trusted local drivers, and check the safety page before you go.

2-Day Imphal Express
Perfect for a weekend break — the essential city sights at a relaxed pace.
Transport: taxis/auto-rickshaws in the city; a hired car for Red Hill. See transport guide .
3-Day Valley Circuit
The classic Imphal experience — city sights plus the unforgettable Loktak Lake day.
Day 1 — The historic heart
Kangla Fort, State Museum, Ima Keithel, Shree Govindajee Temple and the Shaheed Minar at dusk — as in the 2-day plan, at a relaxed pace.
Day 2 — Loktak Lake & Moirang
Early start: Drive to Loktak Lake (~50 km). Sunrise at Sendra Island.
Morning: Boat ride through the floating phumdis .
Lunch: Fresh lake fish at a local eatery.
Afternoon: INA Memorial at Moirang , then return to Imphal.
Day 3 — War & culture
Morning: War Cemetery and Red Hill .
Afternoon: Polo Ground , a craft-shopping session, and packing up.
Evening: Farewell dinner — try Chak-hao black rice kheer for dessert.

4–5 Day Deep Dive
For the slow traveller — add a village day, a polo morning and a proper food crawl.
Day 1 — Arrival & the historic heart
Arrive at Bir Tikendrajit Airport , settle in, then ease in with Ima Keithel and the Shaheed Minar at dusk.
Day 2 — Kangla, museum & temple
A full morning at Kangla Fort and the State Museum , then Shree Govindajee Temple . Afternoon for rest or a craft shop.
Day 3 — Loktak Lake & Moirang
The classic lake day: sunrise at Sendra, a phumdi boat safari, lake-fish lunch, and the INA Memorial at Moirang.
Day 4 — Keibul Lamjao & Thanga village
An early start for the floating national park and the Sangai deer, then a slow afternoon at Thanga village on the lake.
Day 5 — War, polo & food
War Cemetery , Red Hill , the Polo Ground and a final Manipuri food crawl before you fly out.
Tip: check the festival calendar — if your visit overlaps the Sangai Festival (late November), add an evening for it.
